Amazon’s most expensive tablet yet is held back by a pitiful app experience

What’s great about the Amazon Fire Max 11?

This is one of those tablets that usually doesn’t get a lot of love because, while it does run on Android, it’s a custom version created by Amazon, and also has its own app store and doesn’t rely on Google Play Services.

Now, for the most part, Amazon has made great strides over the past several years, but it doesn’t have all the applications you’d find on the Google Play Store. With that said, the Fire Max 11 features a beautiful design, a fantastic 11-inch screen and plenty of power under the hood.

When it comes to the specifics, this tablet runs a MediaTek MT8188J SoC that’s paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. There’s also a microSD slot for storage expansion, and you can expect up to 14 hours of use with a single charge. In addition, it has a USB-C port, along with a 3.5mm audio jack.

You also get an 8MP camera on the front, and an 8MP camera on the rear. When it comes to connectivity, there’s Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3. Now, you also get a keyboard and stylus with this bundle, which means you can transform this tablet into a productivity machine if you wish.

And for the price, it’s a pretty solid option if you’ve been looking for a new tablet. Of course, if you’re someone that lives in Google’s ecosystem, we probably recommend checking out some other tablets.
