Forget Samsung and Apple, the mid-range market is where you’ll find the most fun devices. One of the stars of this market is Tecno. The Chinese brand has been releasing some great phones like the stellar Camon 30 Premier. Now, Tecno has announced the new Camon 40 series at MWC, and we’re in for quite a treat.
In case you don’t know, we’re knee-deep in MWC, and we’ve already seen some pretty interesting tech. There’s a phone for your pets and an affordable gaming handset among other interesting devices. Tecno takes the wraps off of its beautiful Camon 40 series at MWC
Despite targeting a sub-premium market, Tecno knows how to produce a good-looking phone. The company launches multiple variants of its Camon phones with a Pro model and a Premier model. For the past couple of years, both variants shared the same design, but the company flipped the script this time.
As for the Camon 40 series, there are four devices. In the image, we see two designs. One design carries over the circular design we saw with last year’s Camon 30 series. This will remind you of the OnePlus 13. However, there’s a bit of a difference.
It has a two-tone design with the secondary color gradually widening near the edge. The Camon 30 phones had a similar shape.

We see this same widening shape with the other Camon 40 model, however, there’s a drastic difference. Just like how the first model was inspired by the OnePlus 13, this one drew inspiration from Samsung’s phones. There are three camera lenses that jut directly from the back.
Be that as it may, Tecno brought its own flair to the design. There’s a two-toned look to this one as well. However, the widening shape is the camera island, so it sticks out a bit.

More information on these devices will come out. However, since the Camon 40 Premier is the leader of the pack, Tecno shared information about this device. The Tecno Camon 40 Premier uses the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Ultimate. This is a pretty powerful mid-range processor. In fact, you shouldn’t see a huge difference between this chip and a flagship one. Backing this up, we have up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Hopefully, there’s a 512GB model as well.
Moving on, the Tecno Camon 40 Premier has a 50MP Sony LYT-701 sensor. While mid-range phones don’t typically get praise for their camera performance, DXOMARK marked this camera as the best under $600. Accompanying that, there’s a 50MP ultrawide camera and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera. That’s a pretty beefy camera setup.
Keeping the lights on, there’s a large 5,100mAh battery. That’s pretty standard for most phones on the market nowadays. Along with that, there’s 70W fast charging.
This is a durable phone, as it comes with IP69 water and dust resistance. Along with that, you’ll expect AI tools like call translation, AI image extender, an image object eraser, Circle To Search, and more.
Right now, we don’t know how much this phone will cost or where it will be available. However, we’ll be on the lookout for that information.
