The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge sales have not been as good as the company hoped, it seems. The device hasn’t been available for long, and yet the numbers seem to be disappointing, based on a report from SamMobile.
The Galaxy S25 Edge may be ultra-slim, but so are its sales, it seems
The source is quoting unnamed “industry sources”, while saying that the Galaxy S25 Edge sales have been below Samsung’s expectations. As a reminder, the phone became available to pre-order in mid-May, while it was made available to purchase last week.
Another sign that the sales haven’t been the best is Samsung’s silence… in Korea. The company loves to highlight good sales numbers, which it often does for the Galaxy S25 series (even for pre-orders), but that was not the case this time around.
That, of course, does not necessarily indicate that the sales are weak, but simply that they’re not record-breaking. Still, the report from SamMobile’s source remains as an indicator.
Samsung has been offering various incentives to buyers
Also, Samsung has bumped up pre-order bonuses in some countries, which could also be an indicator of sales. In the US, heavy discounts on smartwatches and rings have been offered. In the UK, a free Galaxy Tab A9+ has been thrown into the hat.
It’s unlikely that Samsung will share any sales numbers at this point. If the sales are weak, however, that’s not all that surprising considering the battery capacity in the phone. Yes, it’s ultra-thin, but regular phones are also very thin. This one does have a very tiny battery on the inside, for its size and other internals.
For comparison’s sake, the Galaxy S25 Edge with a 6.7-inch display has a 3,900mAh battery, while the Galaxy S25 with a 6.2-inch panel has a 4,000mAh battery. Just to be clear, the battery in the Galaxy S25 is also considered to be rather petite for its size, based on today’s standards. That could be the main reason why users are not that interested in Samsung’s new high-end offering.
