Samsung’s One UI 7 Beta Creeps Toward Foldables While Stable Release Remains Frustratingly Distant

The development of One UI 7 has been a bit unusual compared to previous One UI updates. Samsung usually releases betas of its upcoming updates for multiple eligible models in a short period of time. However, the Android 15-based beta has only been available for the Galaxy S24 series for months. That said, it seems that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 will be the next to receive access to One UI 7 beta. This could imply some bad news, though.

One UI 7 has become one of the most anticipated updates by Samsung fans. The firmware is full of changes, customization options, and new features. However, it has taken too long to arrive. Several Android brands already released Android 15 stable on their flagship phones months ago. In the meantime, we’re just talking about the possible start of the beta program for two expensive Samsung flagships.

One UI 7 beta just reaching Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 could mean months of waiting for the stable update

Tipster Tarun Vats spotted the first One UI 7 beta build for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6. There are two software versions destined for Europe and India. So, it’s possible that the program will soon start in those regions first. Samsung hasn’t said anything about it yet, but this is the first clue we have about the possible arrival of the One UI 7 beta on other models besides the Galaxy S24 series.

That said, the discovery could imply not-so-good news for the owners of both devices. Many expected Samsung to start the stable rollout of the update for all eligible models once the beta program for the Galaxy S24 series ended. After all, the company could be using those devices as a development reference and then sending the stable software to all the others. However, it seems that each Galaxy lineup or series will have its own beta. This means that users may have to wait months to receive the stable update.
