Samsung has reportedly signed a deal with ChatGPT-maker OpenAI to create AI TVs. A Korean website describes the collaboration as an “open partnership” between the two tech companies. Samsung is currently coordinating specific plans for the next-gen AI TV with OpenAI.
Samsung’s ChatGPT-powered AI TVs could help it maintain market leadership
A Korean report has highlighted that Samsung has maintained its number-one position in the TV segment globally for 19 consecutive years. So, Samsung’s partnership with OpenAI for ChatGPT-powered TVs is a strategic move to give the former an edge in the market.
Furthermore, the report said that Samsung Electronics showcased similar AI ideas for TVs at CES 2025. Samsung representatives showed examples like checking the fashion attire of a movie’s main character. There also were examples like translating foreign language subtitles into Korean with a click of a button.
What ChatGPT could offer on Samsung’s AI TVs?
As of now, there are no official details regarding what we can expect from Samsung’s ChatGPT-powered TVs. However, leveraging OpenAI capabilities, Samsung could develop a truly advanced AI TV. It could provide much better and more personalized content recommendations. They will have multiple conversational assistants. Furthermore, the users can expect multitasking support on their TVs.
In addition, ChatGPT could provide real-time translation of audio and subtitles. You could also ask your TV for personalized healthcare advice.
