Samsung Finalizes Good Lock’s Slate Of Modules Following Global Launch

Summary

  • Good Lock offers extensive customization tools for Galaxy users worldwide, enhancing their phone experience.
  • Recent updates have made previously region-specific modules available globally, for a widely consistent user experience.
  • The RegiStar settings customization module is available through the Galaxy Store only, with Galaxy to Share and Dropship restricted to Korean users.

It’s not often that a single OEM app revolutionizes how people use their phones, but that’s basically the story with Samsung’s wildly popular Good Lock software suite. It epitomizes the customization that makes One UI so beloved, giving users access to a vast range of features from the lock and home screens, and in the layout each individual wants. It finally reached the Google Play Store a week ago, but depending on the market, not all Galaxy smartphones could use the entire selection of modules.

Since then, Samsung has rolled out the remaining modules, fleshing out the powerful toolkit for users in every region (via SamMobile). Well, almost. Only One UI 7 users can install Good Lock via the Play Store, and Samsung’s most ambitious operating system update in years is in the middle of a painfully slow rollout. Nonetheless, the updated roster promises to satisfy the most demanding Galaxy users, and the OS launch is underway despite repeated delays.

What you get with Good Lock now

And what you lost if you’re not in South Korea

The now-globally available Good Lock modules.

To be clear, you might have already had access to some of these modules, depending on where you bought your phone. The latest update simply makes the offerings consistent for everybody. Stable versions of the LockStar, Home Up, ClockFace, NotiStar, and MultiStar tools offer impressive levels of customization to get the most out of the features you use all the time, without needing to dig through menus. Expansive home screen settings, bespoke lock screens and AOD layouts, and improved management of notification history and multi-window functionality let Good Lock users worldwide fully utilize their Galaxy phone’s powerful hardware.

And it gets even more interesting. The latest change brings the Display Assistant module, once available only on the S24 and S25 families, to all One UI 7 devices. This one-of-a-kind tool provides in-depth control over settings like your phone’s automatic brightness curve, and even screen timeout periods for individual apps.

However, it’s not all perfect news for users outside the smartphone giant’s home country. The Galaxy to Share, Dropship, and RegiStar modules are no longer listed globally, instead remaining exclusive to Korea. Galaxy to Share and Dropship enables the easy porting of entire Good Lock profiles to other Galaxy phones, and RegiStar lets you customize various touch shortcuts and prioritize the settings you access the most.

Various Good Lock modules, including RegiStar, available in the US via the Galaxy Store.

Unfortunately, there’s no indication these will return to Good Lock on the Play Store. If you’re running the version published by Samsung on the Galaxy Store, though, you might want to take a look. RegiStar, in particular, offers some supremely useful customizations that make common tasks easy. And we have confirmed that US users have access, but only when installing modules via the Galaxy Store. Galaxy to Share and Dropship, however, appear to be completely exclusive to Korea.
