Samsung Deletes Misleading Reference To Bluetooth S Pen For Galaxy S25 Ultra

While hardly anyone used the features, Samsung’s decision to remove remote features from the S Pen on the Galaxy S25 Ultra has been met with vocal criticism. Now, as previously confirmed, Samsung has removed a misleading reference to Bluetooth S Pen for the Galaxy S25 Ultra which isn’t actually coming.

Since the Galaxy Note 9, Samsung’s Note and Galaxy S Ultra smartphones have built a small battery and additional tech into the S Pen to enable support for some remote control features and gestures. These included using the button to take a picture, or “writing” in the air to control the phone.

According to Samsung, less than 1% of users actually used these features.

As such, they were removed from the Galaxy S25 Ultra, a move which contributed to the weight savings on Samsung’s latest flagship among other things. Many were hoping for a replacement option, such as using an S Pen from an older device. That doesn’t work, though. But a bit of hope emerged from a blog post Samsung published in the UK which referenced a Bluetooth-enabled S Pen that was “now sold separately” for the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Samsung shot down those rumors, saying the post was in error. The company has now removed the entire section of the blog post that discussed these remote features.

The evidence here was shaky from the start. For one, Samsung hadn’t confirmed this detail anywhere else. Beyond that, as we pointed out yesterday, the post was “commissioned content” rather than being from Samsung directly, meaning there’s plenty of room for info like this to slip through the cracks.
