According to a new report, Spotify’s upgraded audio quality tier may be called “Music Pro” and come with other perks for an extra $6 per month.
Bloomberg reports that Spotify is aiming to launch a new “Music Pro” tier later this year which would finally deliver on the company’s long-standing promise to offer “Hi-Fi” audio which was first announced in 2021. Last year, some users briefly saw “Enhanced” audio options on their account, but nothing has actually been announced yet.
According to this latest report, Spotify is planning to bolster “Music Pro” with “remixing tools,” access to concert tickets, and the “higher-quality audio.” Remixing would include the ability to mix together songs from different artists, potentially with the help of AI, while the plan would also potentially include pre-sale tickets or better seats at concerts, but nothing is finalized yet.
This higher tier would come at up to an extra $5.99 per month on top of Spotify’s existing plans, the report says. Spotify Premium currently costs $11.99 per month for an individual plan, so this new “Music Pro” tier could end up costing as much as $16.99 per month.
