Ahead of Mobile World Congress next week in Barcelona, where Qualcomm will likely make quite a few announcements as they always do, the company is debuting its new Dragonwing brand.
Qualcomm says that Dragonwing is a new brand portfolio that will mark a “significant step in our journey to empower businesses and industries to scale to new heights”. You can think of Dragonwing as being on the same level as Snapdragon, where Dragonwing includes Industrial & Embedded IoT, Networking Infrastructure, and Cellular Infrastructure. While Snapdragon encompasses Auto, Mobile, Compute, XR, Wear, Sound, and Gaming.
Qualcomm will debut Dragonwing at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next week. And it continues to drive Qualcomm’s mission to deliver “intelligent computing everywhere”. The company thought that now was the perfect time to bring a unique identity to its products outside of Snapdragon.
Dragonwing can “unlock smarter decision-making”
Qualcomm says with its Dragonwing products, companies are able to unlock smarter decision-making, increased operational efficiency, and faster time-to-market. This is all crucial for industries like energy, utilities, retail, supply chain, manufacturing and telecom.
This is all part of Qualcomm’s diversification, allowing you to think of Qualcomm for more than just smartphones and tablets. In recent years, Qualcomm has already moved into auto and computers, and now they are going a step further. The stylized dragon icon for Dragonwing, symbolizes ascension, power, and acceleration, according to Qualcomm. It uses an influential purple, which “fuses Qualcomm’s innovative blue and Snapdragon’s bold red”. Dragonwing isn’t just a name, “it’s our promise to drive transformation and elevate industry growth”, says Qualcomm’s Don McGuire, SVP and Chief Marketing Officer.
Qualcomm is already in so many different products, whether you know it or not. And now with this new Dragonwing brand, you’re going to hear a lot more about Qualcomm in other products outside of mobile, auto, computing, XR, wear, sound, and gaming.
