Both Samsung and OPPO announced truly compelling flagship smartphones not long ago. In this article, we’ll compare them. We’ll be comparing the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra vs OPPO Find X8 Pro. Granted, the OPPO Find X8 Ultra is also coming in the near future, but we’re not sure if OPPO will announce its global model. The Find X8 Pro’s global variant has already been announced, so this comparison does make sense.
These two smartphones are notably different, in many ways. Yes, there are a couple of similarities, but for the most part, they’re vastly different. As we usually do, we will first list their specifications, and then we’ll move to a number of other sections. We’ll be comparing their designs, display, performance, battery life, cameras, and audio output. Let’s get to it, shall we?

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra (Samsung.com)
N/A
Both of these smartphones are made out of metal and glass. Samsung’s phone does use titanium and glass, while the OPPO Find X8 Ultra utilizes aluminum and glass. Their designs are vastly different, though. The Galaxy S25 Ultra has sharper corners, flat frame, and flat front and back sides. The OPPO Find X8 Ultra’s corners are more rounded, its frame is flat all around, but both its front and back sides are slightly curved on all sides. OPPO is using the so-called quad micro-curved design, even though its display is flat.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra has power/lock and volume up and down buttons on the right-hand side. So does OPPO’s phone, but it also includes an alert slider on the left, and a camera control key on the right side. Both smartphones include a centered display camera hole, though the one on the Galaxy S25 Ultra is a bit smaller. The bezels around both displays are thin, and they’re also uniform in both cases.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra has four cameras on the back. Each of its cameras has its own camera island. The OPPO Find X8 Pro includes a camera oreo on the back, which includes four cameras. Samsung’s flagship also has an S Pen, which is accessible from the bottom. The Galaxy S25 Ultra does have a slightly larger display, and it’s also slightly wider. They’re almost identical in terms of height and are exactly the same when it comes to thickness. The Galaxy S25 Ultra is 3 grams heavier.
Both smartphones are very slippery. The Galaxy S25 Ultra comes with an IP68 certification for water and dust resistance. The OPPO Find X8 Pro, on the other hand, is IP68 and IP69 certified.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra vs OPPO Find X8 Pro: Display
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra features a 6.9-inch 3120 x 1440 Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X display. That panel is flat, and it has an adaptive refresh rate (1-120Hz). HDR10+ content is supported as well, and the peak brightness here is 2,600 nits. The screen-to-body ratio is at around 92%, while the display aspect ratio is 19.5:9. The Gorilla Armor 2 from Corning protects this display.

The OPPO Find X8 Pro, on the flip side, has an LTPO AMOLED display which is also flat, even though it has a quad micro-curved glass on top. It has an adaptive refresh rate from 1 to 120Hz, and it supports 1 billion colors. Dolby Vision is supported too, as is HDR10+ content. The peak brightness here is 4,500 nits, while the screen-to-body ratio is 89.8%. The resolution this display offers is 2780 x 1264, while the Gorilla Glass 7i protects the display.
Both displays are great in terms of image quality. They’re both vivid and more than sharp enough. The viewing angles are also great on both, and so is touch response. Neither display lacks brightness either. The Galaxy S25 Ultra has the advantage of the Gorilla Armor 2, which tackles glare like a champ. The Find X8 Pro, on the other hand, comes with high-frequency PWM dimming, unlike the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Both of these displays are top-notch.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra vs OPPO Find X8 Pro: Performance
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy SoC fuels the Galaxy S25 Ultra. That is an overclocked version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite, the company’s most powerful processor. Samsung coupled that chip with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM in most markets, though a 16GB RAM model does exist too. UFS 4.0 flash storage is also used by the company.
The OPPO Find X8 Pro, on the flip side, is fueled by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 processor. That is a 3nm chip, and it’s coupled with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM. UFS 4.0 flash storage is used too. This is MediaTek’s most powerful processor, by the way. Neither of these two smartphones comes with expandable storage.
The performance from both phones is sublime, though. They’re immensely fast during day-to-day use, lag is not a part of the picture, at all. They’re both extremely snappy, and both of those chips are outstanding. That goes for gaming as well. Both smartphones can handle even the most demanding games out there, and even though they do get quite warm after prolonged gaming, neither phone got too hot to handle or started overheating, not at all. The performance is great, and you’ll be happy regardless of which phone you get.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra vs OPPO Find X8 Pro: Battery
A 5,000mAh battery is used by the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. The OPPO Find X8 Pro, on the flip side, utilizes a 5,910mAh battery. Yes, that’s quite a difference, as OPPO used a newer silicon-carbon battery tech, while Samsung is sticking with a Li-Ion battery. Yes, the OPPO Find X8 Pro has a notably larger battery, but does it also offer better battery life? Yes, it does. The thing is, the difference between them is not as big as you’d think, though.
These are some of the best flagship-grade smartphones in terms of battery life. Both of them last a long time, so much so that even power users won’t have complaints here. We’ve been getting over 8-9 hours of screen-on-time with both, and both had plenty of juice left at that point, on most days. Do note that gaming and other power-intensive tasks do affect battery life in a different way, of course.
The OPPO Find X8 Pro managed to last longer for us during use, but it also did a better job in our battery drain test. Regardless of which one you get, however, you’ll be very happy with the battery life.
In terms of charging, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is outclassed here. Samsung’s phone offers 45W wired, 15W wireless, and 4.5W reverse wireless charging. The OPPO Find X8 Pro comes with 80W wired, 50W wireless, and 10W reverse wireless charging. To make things even better, the OPPO Find X8 Pro ships with a charger in the retail box, unlike the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra vs OPPO Find X8 Pro: Cameras
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra has four cameras on the back. A 200-megapixel main camera (1/1.3-inch sensor) is backed by a 50-megapixel ultrawide snapper (120-degree FoV). A 10-megapixel telephoto camera (1/3.52-inch sensor size, 3x optical zoom) is also included here, as is a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto unit (1/2.52-inch sensor, 5x optical zoom).
The OPPO Find X8 Pro, on the flip side, also has four cameras on the back. A 50-megapixel main camera (1/1.4-inch sensor size) is backed by a 50-megapixel ultrawide unit (1/2.75-inch sensor size, 120-degree FoV). The first 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera offers 3x optical zoom and a 1/1.95-inch sensor size. The second 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera offers 6x optical zoom and a 1/2.51-inch sensor size. Hasselblad is also a part of the package here.
Both of these phones do a great job in terms of pictures. The thing is, we preferred images from the OPPO Find X8 Pro. The Galaxy S25 Ultra tended to leave some shadows a bit too dark at times, while it was less consistent when it comes to balancing images. It also didn’t handle white balance as well in some situations. The OPPO Find X8 Pro does provide more contrasty shots, and it did a better job with HDR too. It all depends on the scene, though. Both are very capable.
When it comes to their ultrawide cameras, both sets do a good job of keeping up with the color science of the main camera. Telephoto cameras from the OPPO Find X8 Pro did a better job, pretty much across the board.
Audio
Stereo speakers are a part of both of these devices. Speakers on both sides are plenty loud, and they also offer good sound quality. The loudness and sound quality is basically on par here, there is no huge advantage on either side.
You will not find an audio jack one either of the two phones. You can use their Type-C ports for the same purpose, though. Alternatively, Bluetooth 5.4 is on offer from both smartphones, for wireless connectivity.
