The OPPO Find X8 Ultra’s launch month has been confirmed by the company’s exec. OPPO’s Zhou Yibao, the company’s Find Series Product Manager, has confirmed that the phone will launch in April.
The OPPO Find X8 Ultra’s launch month has been confirmed
He went to Weibo to debunk rumors that the device has been postponed. OPPO still plans to launch it in April, as originally planned, Yibao said. He said that everyone (in China) will be able to buy it then.
In that same post, he confirmed that a “an ultra-thin-small-screen flagship Find” smartphone is also coming. That’s the rumored OPPO Find X8 mini, most probably. On top of that, “long-awaited IoT products” will also launch.
Now, many of you are probably wondering whether the OPPO Find X8 Ultra will launch globally. Well, based on what a tipster said today, no, it will not. That’s not exactly the most prominent tipster out there, so take it with a grain of salt.
The device may not arrive in a global variant, however
The OPPO Find X7 Ultra did not launch globally, however, so it’s possible that this one will not either. OPPO already brought the Find X8 and Find X8 Pro smartphones to global markets, so it’s possible the company will skip this one.
The OPPO Find X8 Ultra will ditch a curved display, and use a flat one. It will utilize a quad micro-curved design, so the glass on top of the display will be slightly curved on all four sides.
That smartphone will be fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, almost certainly. It is also said to get a telemacro camera, which will be its periscope telephoto camera. A 1-inch type main camera is also rumored, probably the Sony LYT-900 sensor. A secondary periscope telephoto camera will also be included, as will an ultrawide camera. Do note that a spectral imaging sensor is also rumored.
Needless to say, the OPPO Find X8 Ultra will be camera-centric, as was its predecessor. It will be the best camera smartphone OPPO has to offer.
