When it comes to DJ headphones, most of them are wired models. This makes sense because while performing, the last thing a DJ wants is for their headphones to die halfway through a set. Wired headphones solve this issue. If you prefer wireless headphones, check out the new OneOdio Studio Max 1 headphones announced at CES 2025.
Large, over-ear wireless design
Headphones usually come in two types of sizes. There are on-ear designs, where the earcups rest directly on top of your ears. This might be preferred by some as over-ear headphones tend to be smaller. Then there are over-ear designs. This is where the earcups cover your entire ear.
This is the design that OneOdio has gone for with the Studio Max 1. The company chose this unsurprisingly, as they designed the headphones with DJs in mind. A benefit of over-ear design is that it helps with sound isolation. It’s not completely noise-cancellation, but it creates an isolating effect which DJs might find useful.
Even non-DJs might be able to appreciate this as it can improve the sound staging experience and feel more immersive.
Another unique feature of these headphones is that they are wireless. The Studio Max 1 uses the Rapid WiLL+ technology that claims to offer 20ms latency. This means that the delay/lag from the audio played from the source to the headphones will be barely noticeable.
You can use the headphones in wired mode for monitoring. It supports both 3.5mm and 6.35mm interfaces, so you can use it with a computer, or smartphone, or with a guitar amplifier.
Hi-Res Audio
Another important feature of headphones for DJs is that they need to be able to play audio clearly. This helps DJs feel the music so they know when to transition from one song to another and identify patterns and potential drops. The OneOdio Studio Max 1 has support for LDAC and also has dual Hi-Res Audio certification. This should result in richer and more immersive sound.
Super-long battery life
Going wireless helps deal with issues like cables tangling. The downside is the battery anxiety that comes with it. This is one of the trade-offs users have to make. Thankfully, battery life won’t really be that big a deal with the OneOdio Studio Max 1 headphones.
The company claims that the headphones have a battery life of up to 120 hours. That’s pretty impressive. Even if you were to use it for 10 hours a day straight, you should be able to squeeze close to 2 weeks of usage. Obviously how long the battery lasts will vary from user to user and how you use the headphones, but 120 hours of advertised battery life is still pretty good.
Pricing & availability
One of the best parts of OneOdio’s audio products is that they are generally pretty affordable. So even though it packs a ton of features, the OneOdio Studio Max 1 won’t cost you an arm and a leg unlike other competing headphones out there. It is priced at $169.99 and is available for pre-order from the company’s website.
