Samsung’s One UI 7 rollout is in full swing. The Android 15-based update started rolling out on Samsung devices earlier this month, and it has since started making its way to a majority of the South Korean tech giant’s foldables and S-series flagships.
Within the span of a day, the update began rolling out on the Galaxy Z Fold 4, Flip 4, S23 FE, the S22 series, and now even the S21 series, highlighting a clear momentum in Samsung’s rollout strategy that might be influenced by the inevitable One UI 8.
The eventual release of Samsung’s Android 16-based One UI 8 could take place sooner than expected, with internal test builds already making their way to Samsung’s servers. For reference, Google’s Android 16 is expected to hit the stable channel sometime in June. Samsung’s One UI 8, on the other hand, is rumored to begin rolling out with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 around July.
From what we already know, One UI 8 isn’t shaping up to be a major revamp of the OS skin — instead, the update will likely focus on making minor, but practical improvements, all while porting features like Now Brief and log video recording to older flagships. Additionally, the South Korean tech giant might also be looking at borrowing a feature similar to Gemini’s Ask about this video, and bringing it to its native browser, with the feature available to test drive right now.
As highlighted by SammyGuru (via Android Authority), Samsung could be planning several AI upgrades for Samsung Internet as part of Galaxy AI’s suite of features, with video summarization being one of them. Reportedly, the tool not only parses through video captions, but also the video itself and its spoken dialogue. It then uses an unnamed multi modal AI tool to summarize key points.
The tool offers two distinct summary styles — Standard and Detailed, with only the former currently available to try out.

- Open Samsung Internet and type internet://debug in the address bar.
- Tap the three-line menu on the bottom right.
- Tap Settings.
- Head to Debug settings → Single module tests → AI Summarize Settings.
- Toggle on Enable Video Summarize.
