The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is reportedly going to bring much-overdue changes. A new leak indicates that Samsung is already working on a version of One UI 7 for it.
Both Samsung and Google have been struggling to keep up with Android update schedules, offering full releases months after initially expected. The Galaxy S24 still doesn’t have access to One UI 7 in full like the S25 does. It brings a slew of great changes and much-needed UI tweaks. One UI 7 is the reason the Galaxy S25 is as good as it is.
According to Tarun Vats on Twitter/X, a new version of One UI 7 has appeared. It’s indicated that the software version is specific to the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which is still some time away from launch and release. Version F966USQU0AYB3, F966UOYN0AYB3, and F966USQU0AYB3 are supposedly meant for the Z Fold 7 and may come to the user as One UI 7.0.1.
There’s speculation that Samsung is sticking with One UI 7.0.1 due to timing, as under normal circumstances, One UI 7.1 would be widely available by the time Samsung is ready to begin implementing it into the new foldable. That’s a rumor, and there are plenty of reasons for the version shift. Samsung could also leave it as One UI 7.1.1. We don’t know for sure.
The new One UI 7 version in progress simply solidifies the idea of a Galaxy Z Fold 7 in the works. The new foldable is reportedly bringing a few much-needed changes, like a better crease to rival that of new foldables and improvements to the camera array.
There is, of course, no word on when the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be announced.
