Notion Mail Is The AI-Powered Inbox You Didn’t Know You Needed

Summary: Notion is taking on your inbox with the launch of Notion Mail, an AI-powered email client built for macOS, Windows, and the web. Designed to simplify email management, it brings custom inbox views, Auto Label sorting, built-in scheduling, and a lightning-fast UI—all with a focus on letting AI handle the clutter. While it’s missing mobile apps at launch, Notion says iOS is coming soon, with Android to follow later in 2025.
Notion, the popular productivity app, has launched its own email client. Of course, it’s 2025, so it’s powered by AI as well. It’s not quite an app, since it is not available on iOS or Android yet, but there is a macOS and Windows app available, as well as a webapp.
The company says that “Notion Mail is designed to make email management simpler – a well-oilled machine that hums in the background of your day to day.” Email has become our digital identity these days, most of the time we hand out our email address instead of a phone number. Because it’s easier to deal with. However email clients really haven’t kept up, since the first email was sent in 1971. Notion is aiming to change that.
Notion is introducing a new way to automate your inbox
We all get hundreds, if not thousands, of emails per day. A lot of them are emails we will never read or even open, while others are important. So managing your inbox is pretty important. And Notion says that one of the best things about AI is how it can automate inbox management. Now, you can tell Notion AI what matters to you, and it’ll be able to manage the rest for you. With things like “Auto Label”.
Notion Mail also offers custom views. Allowing you to split your inbox into custom views that show different focus areas. Obviously, other email clients like Gmail are able to limit you to a few catch-all categories, like Promotions, Social, and Forums. But Notion is taking a different approach. It’s allowing you to customize how everything is viewed, so you can focus on what’s important to you, not what Notion or another email client thinks is important to you.
The team has also built-in a ton of other features like one-click snippets, built-in scheduling, a personal editor, and much more. The service is buttery smooth and lightning fast. But the major downside, is the lack of mobile apps, for now. But Notion does say that a dedicated Mail app will be available for iOS soon, and Android within 2025. The wording on Notion Mail’s website makes it sound like iOS is prioritized.
