Ahead of its launch in March, Nothing is teasing a dedicated camera button for its next smartphone, the Nothing Phone (3a).
On March 10, the next Nothing Phone will be released. This isn’t expected to be the flagship Phone (3), but rather a sequel to Nothing’s popular mid-range lineup. The Nothing Phone (3a) series is coming up quick, and teasers are hinting at a useful new hardware addition.
In a post on Twitter/X today, Nothing teases that “your second memory” is “one click away.” The tagline is accompanied by a scan of a smartphone from the side, showing what appears to be two buttons. However, neither is shaped like a volume rocker. That, combined with the tagline, suggests that Nothing Phone (3a) will be adopting some sort of dedicated camera button.
Adding to this is a profile view of the Phone (3a) shared in a Nothing video last week where the device is shown with four total buttons, one more than the prior generation.
Cameras have never been a particularly strong point for Nothing, but it’s clear the company is more heavily pushing that aspect of its devices. The Phone (3a) is also expected to be the company’s first release with a telephoto lens for improved optical zoom, something that’s been lacking on prior releases.
Other rumors around the Nothing Phone (3a) series include a switch to a Snapdragon chipset and a bigger display, but there’s still a lot we don’t know about these devices. As the March 10 unveiling approaches, though, more details are sure to continue being drip-fed by Nothing.
