In partnership with Google, Yale today announced the Yale Smart Lock with Matter. This serves as a sequel to the Nest x Yale Lock from 2018, which is being discontinued.
Aesthetically and functionally, the Yale Smart Lock with Matter is designed to complement Nest Doorbells.
Visually, they share a pill-shaped design with a 3×4 grid of circular (push-down) buttons for the keypad and three (Google-y) finishes: Ash, Matte Black, or Snow. Besides the Yale logo, there’s just a keyhole at the bottom, with entry code and app unlock also available.
There’s built-in Matter over Thread technology and up to 12 months of battery life. This is Yale’s second Matter smart lock and works with all certified platforms.
The Google Home app will let you manage household access, edit passcodes, create guest profiles, and receive lock/unlock notifications.

The Yale Smart Lock with Matter will be available later this summer for $170.
