Yu Chengdong, the Chairman of the Huawei Consumer Business Group, teased a rather interesting product. He said that the company is getting ready to launch a “most incredible” product in March.
He said that during a recent livestream while returning to his hometown. During this live stream, he talked about smart driving solutions, and upcoming Huawei products, among other things.
During the live stream, he promised that a “most incredible” product is coming from Huawei this March. Do note that this launch event may not be global, though, as this was a Chinese livestream. We’ll see.
Chengdong did not clarify what product he was talking about, but he did accidentally mention it’s a “mobile phone”. He also confirmed that the device will be equipped with the native HarmonyOS system, probably HarmonyOS NEXT, the one that is not based on Android.

In addition to calling this product “most incredible”, he also described it as “beyond imagination”. He promised amazing features and cost-effective traits. These were his words “Huawei is expected to launch a product in March that no one can think of. After the product is on the market, people all over the country will rush to buy it and everyone will be able to afford it.”
So… many of you are probably wondering what it is. Some of you may think it’s the Huawei Pura80 series, even though the Pura70 launched in April last year. That doesn’t seem to fit, though.
Huawei’s Chairman promised a product that “everyone will be able to afford”, and the Pura80 series will be a flagship lineup of devices. So… could it be the Huawei Pocket 3 by any chance? Huawei’s new clamshell foldable.
The Huawei Pocket 3 could be the phone in question
The Huawei Pocket 2 launched back in February last year, so… the timing fits. That phone didn’t exactly have a premium price tag, so… the Huawei Pocket 3 launch is definitely a possibility.
Chengdong did say that this is a “product that no one can think of”, though, so that makes us a bit skeptical, as the Pocket 3 is the product people would expect. We’ll just have to wait and see.
