Summary: HONOR Power has arrived in China with a massive 8000mAh battery capacity. The phone can last all day and does not compromise on the slim form factor thanks to a silicon-carbon battery.
HONOR has officially launched the HONOR Power smartphone in China. It is the first phone under the Power series. As the name suggests, this phone comes with a massive 8,000mAh powerful battery. Here’s everything you need to know about the latest midrange phone from HONOR.
8,000mAh battery with a slim form factor
The main highlight of the phone is the humongous 8,000mAh battery. The rated battery capacity is 7,850mAh, which is still quite substantial. In comparison, the other flagship phones are using 5,000mAh – 6,000mAh batteries.
HONOR is using a silicon-carbon battery tech, which the brand markets as “Qinghai Lake battery”. The silicon-carbon battery is not a new tech. Chinese phones have been using this technology with their flagships from last year. Despite using a 8,000mAh battery, the phone retains the slim form factor. The phone measures 7.98mm in thickness and 209g in weight.
In real-world use, HONOR says that the phone gives 25 hours of long-form video playback, 23 hours of short video playback, 23.1 hours of navigation, and 14 hours of gaming. When the battery is low, you can recharge it to 100% (from 3%) in under 70 minutes using the provided 66W wired charger.
HONOR Power specs, features, and price
Now that we’ve covered the battery, let’s take a look at the rest of the phone’s specifications. The HONOR Power uses a 6.78-inch quad-curved AMOLED. This panel features 2700×1224 pixels resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The display can reach up to 4,000 nits of peak brightness and supports PWM dimming at up to 3840Hz.
Under the hood, the phone uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor. The device is also equipped with HONOR C1+ RF Enhanced Chip for better connectivity. The software is MagicOS 9.0, which is based on Android 15.
At the back, the device packs a 50-megapixel primary camera with OIS and a 5-megapixel wide-angle camera. For selfies, you get a 16-megapixel shooter. An in-display fingerprint is used for unlocking the phone. Other connectivity options include support for Dual speakers, Dual SIM, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and a USB 2.0 port.
In China, the phone is launched in three colors: Snow White, Phantom Night Black, and Desert Gold. Its price starts at CNY 1,999 ($270) for the 8GB+256GB model and goes up to CNY 2,499 ($340) for the 12GB+512GB variant. HONOR has not yet confirmed the global availability of this phone, but if it launches in Europe, we may see a downgrade in battery capacity due to local restrictions.
