Google has some new AI Mode announcements to share with us. The company is basically announcing new ways to interact with information in AI Mode.
Google is pushing some major enhancements to AI Mode
Google said that millions of people use AI mode in Labs. They’re “asking longer, harder questions, using follow-up questions to hone in on what they really want to know, and discovering new websites and businesses along the way.”
Thanks to AI Mode, you can really delve in deep and ask for complex explanations of various topics. Google claims that it received very positive feedback for AI mode, which is why it’s adding new features now.
Getting the information you need is now easier than ever
AI Mode will make it even easier to reach the information you need. You’ll begin to see visual place and product cards in AI mode. You’ll also be able to tap them to get more details. For local spots like restaurants, stores, and salons, Google will also provide you with info like ratings, reviews, and opening hours.
If it’s a product you’re searching for, you’ll see shoppable options with real-time prices right at your fingertips. Google will even include the latest promotions in there, images, shipping details, and local inventory.
So, let’s say, for example, that you’re planning to go on a summer camping trip, and you decide to search for “best foldable camping chair that would fit in a backpack for under $100.” That’s a rather specific question. Well, AI Mode will give you a “comprehensive breakdown of recommended products that fit your budget, along with product details and links to retailers”, says Google.
AI Mode will also remember your search history and allow you to pick up where you left off
Google will also allow you to pick up where you left off. On desktop, you’ll be able to click the new left-side panel in order to get to your past searches. Each topic will include the info that AI Mode has already found for you, and you can simply follow up from there.
The company has also announced that, due to the overwhelmingly positive feedback to AI Mode, it’s getting ready to do a little experiment. In the coming weeks, a small percentage of people in the US will see the AI Mode tab in Search.
