Google Play Store Is Frequently Crashing For Some Android Users

If you’re an Android smartphone or tablet user, the Google Play Store is your go-to space to download and update your favorite Android apps. The app is great for the most part and receives timely updates from Google to keep it up and running. However, it has troubled users with some annoying errors on many occasions. Well, it seems the Google Play Store is back at it again, as the app is reportedly crashing quite frequently for some Android users.

Folks over at 9to5Google first spotted this issue and reported that the Google Play Store app on their Android smartphones and tablets crashed many times when they used it. When the app crashes, it reportedly leaves a “Google Play Store keeps stopping” error message. The error message reportedly also covers the Hub Mode clock on the Pixel tablet, adding more to the headache.

Generally, the system displays this message when an Android app crashes. As the error message pops up, users appear to have no choice but to close the app and relaunch it. It appears to be true in this case well. Apart from crashing, the Google Play Store is apparently working just fine. Per the report, this issue hasn’t affected the ability to browse, download, and update apps.

Nobody is entirely sure what is causing this issue. But a wild guess could be that the Google Play Store is probably crashing in the background. We can confirm that none of our Android phones and tablets are experiencing this kind of issue. If they do, we’ll update this piece down the line.

Google has yet to acknowledge the ongoing issue

It’s important to note that not all Google Play Store users are experiencing this issue. It could be one of the reasons why we haven’t heard from Google just yet. However, we expect it to address the issue via an update.

If you are also experiencing this issue, sadly, there isn’t much you can do about it. However, we recommend clearing the app’s cache and force-stopping it from the settings to see if it makes any difference in the meantime.
