Historically, Samsung has shipped its Galaxy Z series with Snapdragon chipsets globally, unlike its S-series, where it has experimented with using Exynos processors in select regions. This year, however, early reports suggested that Samsung might break that tradition by launching the Galaxy Z Flip 7 with its in-house Exynos 2500 in regions like India, South Korea, and “most countries.”
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 might get the best chipset after all
Just not everywhere
A new report out of Korea now refutes that claim. According to prominent Samsung leaker Jukanlosreve on X, the Exynos 2500 will be limited to South Korea only. All other regions, including North America, will receive the Snapdragon 8 Elite version of the Galaxy Z Flip 7. The report also states that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite globally across all markets.
The Exynos 2500 is reportedly built on Samsung’s 3nm node process, but it’s still reassuring to see that Samsung will stick to the proven Snapdragon 8 Elite for the global launch, especially given the chipset’s performance on devices like the Galaxy S25 and OnePlus 13.
Beyond chipsets, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is rumored to pack a larger 4,300 mAh battery, up from the 4,000 mAh in the Z Flip 6. However, due to the battery bump, the overall thickness of the device is expected to stay the same. Meanwhile, the pricier Galaxy Z Fold 7 is tipped to be notably thinner than its predecessor. Another major upgrade for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is expected to be a significantly larger cover display.
