Samsung’s flagship series has been in a rough state for a few years, but the company is apparently off to a great start with the Galaxy S25 series, seeing a 40% bump over the Galaxy S24’s numbers so far.
In its latest earnings call, Samsung said sales of the Galaxy S25 series have been “strong,” but new numbers offer a better idea of just how strong those sales are.
Hana Securities (via @Jukanlosreve) reports that Samsung’s first quarter smartphone sales totaled 20.29 million devices, a 2% year-over-year decline, but still just over Apple’s 18.96 million units (a 12% increase for the company). However, within that decline, Samsung managed to see higher sales of its flagship series.
The report claims that the Galaxy S25 series has, so far, sold 9.16 million units. That breaks down to 2.41 million Galaxy S25 units, 1.67 million Galaxy S25+ units, and 5.08 million Galaxy S25 Ultra units. Looking at the same date versus last year, that’s up around 40% from the Galaxy S24 series, which was at 6.53 million units after two months.
The caveat, though, is that the number of days each series was on the market differs (Galaxy S25 was released about a week later than the S24 series was), which throws off the numbers. Apparently, if you compare just the second month of sales, the Galaxy S25 series is actually 10% behind the S24 series. Either way, over 9 million units sold since February is a pretty solid jump.
