Samsung has confirmed that its rumored ultra-slim smartphone will be called the Galaxy S25 Edge. That confirmation came yesterday, as the Galaxy S25 Slim name won’t be used. With that being said, a company’s representative just confirmed the launch timeframe for the Galaxy S25 Edge.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge launch timeframe has been revealed
9to5Google claims that a Samsung representative revealed the launch timeframe for the device. He said that the Galaxy S25 Edge will launch “around” April. A previous rumor hinted at a similar timeframe, with May being the launch month.
The phone did get teased by Samsung during yesterday’s Unpacked event. The company even showed what it’ll look like at the event. However, the phone did not launch there, as expected.
The Galaxy S25 Edge will also look different than initially reported. CAD-based renders surfaced about a week ago, and it turns out they were wrong. The phone will include two cameras on the back, which will be a part of the same camera island. The CAD-renders reported three cameras, just like on the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+.
Its specs are still a mystery
We still don’t know the specs of the phone, though. It is rumored to use the 7-core variant of the Snapdragon 8 Elite, but other than that, we don’t know anything, basically. It will be thinner than all other Galaxy S25 phones, that’s for sure. That’s its main selling point.
If we had to guess its other specs, we’d say it’ll be in line with the Galaxy S25+, but we’re only guessing. It seems like Samsung will use a similar design, with a flat frame all around, and flat front and back sides. The phone will almost certainly be made out of aluminum and glass.
Its expected price tag is also a secret at the moment. We’re not even sure if it will cost more or less than the Galaxy S24+. It does have one less camera on the back, so we’re wondering if any more concessions will be made in the name of thinness.
