Free Gemini Users Can Now Use Gemini 2.5 Pro Experimental

Google has been launching new versions of its Gemini AI models, and free users have been able to capitalize on some new features. Well, free users just got a big treat in the form of Gemini 2.0 Pro Experimental.

However, according to a new post on the Google Gemini App X account, the company wants to get it into more people’s hands as soon as possible. So, if you’re a free user, then congratulations, you now have a shiny new model to try out!

Google officially unveiled Gemini 2.5 Pro Experimental on March 25th. This announcement ushered in a new age for Gemini, bringing the version from 2.0 to 2.5. So, we’re sure that this will be the case until sometime next year when Google unveils Gemini 3.0.

It’s important to know that this is an experimental model, so you should expect some issues here and there as Google irons out the model. Keep that in mind before you try to run your business on it.

How to select the new model

Go to the Gemini website and look at the top of the screen. You should see the Gemini pull-down menu right next to the hamburger menu. Click on the downward arrow. You’ll then see a panel rise from the bottom of the screen. Select the model that you want to use.
