Exclusive: Motorola’s 2026 Moto G Power Ditches The Leather, Keeps The Drama

Motorola just released the Moto G Power 2025 back in January, and now we’re already seeing its successor. Today, we’re giving you your first exclusive look at what we believe is the Moto G Power 2026.

This phone has the model number XT2615-1. The letters indicate that this is a Motorola device, which, surprise, surprise. While the first two numbers indicate the year, the next number indicates the series (in this case, Moto G), with the fourth number indicating the specific model in the series. The dash number represents the region; typically, the -1 means the US. And if we look back at the Moto G Power 2025, we can see that it was the XT2515.

So far, we don’t know a whole lot about this device, other than the fact that Motorola is keeping its partnership with Pantone going. This appears to be the Pantone 431C. It’s a sort of dark, slate blue color. It looks very nice, but it does appear to be leaving out some of the fancy materials that we’ve seen on other Motorola devices lately.

However, that doesn’t mean that all colorways will be skipping out on the vegan leather option. Similar to the Moto G Power 2025 and other Motorola phones, which have different materials. This particular model appears to be a plastic back that looks and likely feels like glass.

Moto G Power 2026 will keep the triple-camera look going

The Moto G Power 2025 introduced what looked like a third camera to the device for the first time, and that appears to be continuing with the 2026 model. But it’s not actually a camera. That is because the third camera was an ambient light sensor for 2025, and it appears to be the same thing for 2026.

Around the flash, it appears to say that the Moto G Power 2026 is sporting a 50-megapixel camera with OIS. We’d expect the cameras to remain unchanged for the Moto G Power 2026, with a 50-megapixel primary camera and an 8-megapixel ultrawide.

The Moto G Power 2025 was announced right after CES on January 14, 2025. So we’re expecting the same sort of announcement period for the Moto G Power 2026. However, Motorola could opt to announce this phone in other markets (like India) before the end of 2025. Phones do typically get announced a bit earlier each year.

As far as specs go, we’d expect some modest upgrades. Likely an upgrade from the Dimensity 6300 to the Dimensity 6400. This chipset was announced back in February, as a 6nm process with two Cortex-A76 cores and six Cortex-A55 cores. We also expect it to keep the same size battery at 5,000mAh, and RAM at 8GB. And while we’d like to say it would stick to relatively the same price (Moto G Power 2025 retails for $299) with the current tariffs, we can’t say that with certainty.
