A premium tablet experience without the premium price
HONOR unveiled its Pad V9 tablet at Mobile World Congress 2025 this week, and we were impressed at how good of a tablet it is, considering its lower cost. That’s the main reason we decided to give the HONOR Pad V9 the Best of Mobile World Congress 2025 award.
For the specs on offer and the performance output you get, the HONOR Pad V9 is a surprisingly good option for those looking to spend less money without too much compromise on the user experience. One thing that is worth drawing attention to is the display. In our review, we said that the HONOR Pad V9 has “a display that won’t hurt your eyes, even after hours of doomscrolling in the dark.”
And we think that’s an important factor to consider. Many people use their devices later at night with the lights off. Whether it’s in bed before you fall asleep or just on the couch while others are watching a movie or some TV. The HONOR Pad V9 delivers an experience that keeps your eyes comfortable. Something which is more important than you might imagine. Of course, the display isn’t the only good thing about this tablet. It’s just one of the better parts about it.
Incredible speakers for incredible entertainment
While everyone uses their tablet differently, one thing that many no doubt use one for is entertainment purposes. Watching movies or TV shows, playing games, or spending a little time on YouTube are all fun activities on tablets, thanks to their bigger displays. The experience is much better, though, when the speakers are good. The speakers are pretty incredible on the HONOR Pad V9.
There are four of them positioned around the tablet’s frame, with two on either side when you’re holding it in landscape mode. This aims to produce a sort of surround sound experience, and it makes a big difference. Not all tablets offer great sound, so it’s nice to see that the HONOR Pad V9 does. This is more impressive considering it’s a mid-premium tablet with a lower price point. And it’s a big part of why we gave it the award.
Decent specs all around
The display and the speakers are nice, but the rest of the specs also prop this tablet up as a decent offering. With 256GB of internal storage and either 8GB or 12GB of RAM, you have options. The HONOR Pad V9 also comes with DTS X: Ultra and spatial audio, as well as a MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Elite chipset for computing and graphics. The display is also 11.5 inches, and it has a 144Hz refresh rate. So you can expect smooth scrolling and smooth visuals inside of games.
Overall, the HONOR Pad V9 is a solid tablet that won’t break the bank.
