On one random day, if someone asks you to decode a hidden message behind the official iPhone 16 wallpapers, you’ll think—What kind of question is that? It turns out that the official wallpapers for the iPhone 16 lineup have a message hidden within them.
Apple has hidden a message within the official wallpapers of each iPhone 16 model
A tech blogger, John Gruber, first noticed the hidden message and noted it in his recent blog post. The blogger mentions that the difference in wallpapers of each iPhone 16 model isn’t immediately noticeable. However, seeing them side by side paints a clear picture of what Apple tried to indicate through the wallpapers.
The official wallpapers for each iPhone 16 model apparently represent the number of camera lenses they come with. Now, let’s connect the dots as to why Gruber says so. As you may know, the iPhone 16 Pro models come with three rear camera lenses. That’s mirrored by the three bubbles on the device’s default wallpaper.
Similarly, two bubbles in the official wallpaper of the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus hint at their dual-rear camera setup. That’s not all; the default wallpaper for the iPhone 16e showcases only one bubble, which secretly represents the single camera lens available on its back panel. In short, each bubble seen on the official wallpapers of the iPhone 16 family represents a camera lens.
Apple has had a history of doing these fun tricks
The hidden message in iPhone 16 wallpapers is just one example. Apple keeps doing these things from time to time, but very few users often notice them. In the past, the tech giant secretly added a few trigger words, which, when typed, used to offer the vibe of the holiday season. For example, typing the “let it snow” phrase on the app search tab back in 2021 used to show snowflakes on the Apple Store app on iPhones. Moreover, the tech giant has also had a fun history with Easter eggs.
