You rarely get to hear tidbits about the life of Tim Cook. But, thanks to a personal interview on the food podcast – Table Manners with Jessie and Lennie Ware, we now know many things about the Apple CEO. If you are wondering whether he talked about the lifesaving features of the Apple Watch, well, he did.
Apple CEO talks about his daily routine, food habits, and more in a personal interview
The interview was uploaded yesterday, though it was recorded in December last year during Cook’s visit to the UK. When questioned whether Cook starts his day at 5 AM, he confirmed replying to emails, grabbing coffee, and eating some cereal in the early hours.
Speaking of emails, the CEO says he usually receives around 500 to 600 emails per day, but his inbox gets even more flooded when there’s “something extraordinary going on.” Cook also reflected on his early days during the interview. He mentioned working in a fast food place called “Tastee Freez” in his teenage years.
Tim Cook doesn’t prefer cooking food, rather he eats at Caffè Macs, which is an eatery inside the Apple Park. The Apple CEO is also a big fan of chocolate, especially dark chocolate. Speaking of food, Cook mentioned that Apple also makes jam from fruit trees planted in Apple Park. Moreover, he also has a personal favorite wine called Kistler Chardonnay.
Guess what? The Apple Watch once saved the life of Cook’s dad when he was alive
During the interview, Tim Cook also recalled how the Apple Watch saved his father’s life. He said that the Apple Watch notified emergency services when his dad fell. When Cook’s father didn’t respond to the door, the emergency services broke it down to help him. Cook further recalls that his father was more upset about the door than being proud of the piece of tech that Apple had created.
When the interviewer asked whether Cook would ever retire, he said, “Sure, but not the traditional definition of it. I don’t see being at home doing nothing and not intellectually stimulated and thinking about how tomorrow can be better than today.” Finally, Cook mentioned playing around with Apple Intelligence to generate an image of Big Ben “with a tree out front.” Moreover, he recently donated $1 million to Trump’s inauguration fund.
