Galaxy Z Flip 7 Is Expected To Carry A Slightly Bigger Battery

Manufacturers are making improvements in battery capacity at a higher rate than we’ve seen in the past few years, with many considering the switch to silicon-carbon. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 doesn’t seem to be a part of that trend, with a small improvement in battery capacity that isn’t enough to get excited about.

The Galaxy Z Flip 6’s battery life was fine. When we reviewed it last year, we found that it was adequate in almost every way. That comes from the 4,000mAh cell, which gives users enough to get by. But as more people want a device that gets them through several days, that rating isn’t going to cut it forever.

Recent leaks suggest that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is going to get a bigger battery than its predecessor — just barely (via Galaxy Club). The new flip-phone will seemingly get a cell rated for 4,300mAh. That’s a jump of just 300mAh, which isn’t really significant, especially when you consider the jumps some other devices are making.

That source indicates that the Z Flip 7 will have two batteries, as always. The smaller unit will come in at a rated capacity of 1,189mAh, while the bigger one hits 2,985mAh. The rated capacity is different from the typical capacity, and usually the phone is advertised by the latter.

This comes as the Galaxy S26 is rumored to launch with a “monster” batter capacity, hitting somewhere around 6,000mAh or more. That would be a massive improvement over a device that was ragged on for not improving. That’s a parallel storyline to what seems to be happening with the Galaxy Z Flip 7.

One could speculate that the addition of a Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC would improve the phone’s battery life, though the jump from S24 to S25 with that same SoC configuration would have you think otherwise. Time will tell what sort of performance the Galaxy Z Flip 7 will get.

Samsung is expected to launch the foldable alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 during the next Samsung Unpacked event, which will likely land in July.
