T-Mobile Will Roll Out Its 5G Advanced Service Nationwide Soon

T-Mobile’s technology president, Ulf Ewaldsson, has announced that the company is all set to roll out its 5G advanced service nationwide soon. Ewaldsson used his slice of a panel at the ongoing Mobile World Congress trade show in Barcelona to make the announcement. Furthermore, the T-Mobile executive said the telco is moving to infuse artificial intelligence into its network management platform.

“T-Mobile is about to make 5G Advanced nationwide,” Ewaldsson said, promising an upside of improved coverage and capacity from the same physical network. The company is about to make a move for the significant expansion of its 5G Advanced capabilities. The enhanced service will improve network performance for T-Mobile customers across the United States.
T-Mobile’s new move represents a major step forward in offering faster download/upload speeds, enhanced responsiveness, and a more robust 5G experience. For those unaware, 5G Advanced utilizes cutting-edge next-gen technology to deliver faster data speeds, lower latency, and a bigger network capacity. Some of the advanced features of the service are possible thanks to the company’s standalone (SA) 5G network.
T-Mobile will expand the Carrier Aggregation technology
Another important technology that T-Mobile includes in its 5G Advanced experience is Carrier Aggregation. The telecom giant started deploying this tech on its standalone 5G in 2021. It will now aggregate four channels for downloads and two for upload purposes. The company will soon upgrade the download channels to five.
To simplify this technology, you can imagine a two-lane road that becomes a six-lane super highway. This will allow the highway to provide more room for traffic, allowing vehicles to move at faster speeds. T-Mobile will combine multiple frequency bands to increase the bandwidth, resulting in increased data speeds, thanks to the Carrier Aggregation technology.
Furthermore, the company will inject artificial intelligence into its network management system. “The network is performing better than it ever has”, said Edwaldsson. “We have halved the downtime per subscriber by using AI technology”, he added. The company will use AI to automate network management and also open up new business possibilities by offering enhanced connectivity for businesses and services.
