Sony’s WH-1000XM6 Headphones May Be Just Around The Corner

Sony’s popular WH-1000 headphones have been a staple in the wireless headphone space due to their prized active noise cancellation quality, and the latest version, the WH-1000XM6, may be arriving soon, according to a new leak.
The Sony WH-1000XM6 headphones have popped up a couple of times before. A rumor that surfaced in June of last year claimed that Sony wouldn’t be launching them until sometime in 2025. Then, in January of this year, they received their FCC certification, suggesting that Sony was nearing the final stages of production and getting ready to announce the headphones. Naturally, an announcement would be followed by a launch not long after.
The new leak is admittedly minor. However, it’s another piece of information that points to a possible launch coming up in the near future.
Sony WH-1000XM6 leak reveals available colors
The leak, which was first spotted by The Walkman Blog (via Techradar and What HIFI?) is based on the FCC filing that was discovered back in January. In The Walkman Blog’s original post, which has now been updated, recently discovered importer filings reveal two new pieces of information. First, it seems there’s now some information on what colors Sony will offer.
Much like the WH-1000XM5 headphones, the WH-1000XM6 model will come in three of the same colors. These include Black, Silver, and Midnight Blue. Sony offers the former model in a Smoky Pink color as well, but this isn’t listed in the importer filings. The leak also details two of the regions where Sony plans to launch the new headphones – Vietnam and India.
The headphones will no doubt launch globally
Although only two countries are listed in the importer filings, Sony will no doubt launch these headphones globally. An easier way to think about it is to look at the current availability of the WH-1000XM5. Sony made these available in several regions across the world. Including the US and Europe. With that being said, expect the new model of Sony’s most popular headphones to be available pretty much anywhere. Of course, there’s no guarantee Sony will follow its past launch strategy.
