Infinix Teases Its First Tri-Folding Concept Phone ‘ZERO Series Mini Tri-Fold’

Last year, Huawei took the smartphone market by storm with the launch of the world’s first tri-fold smartphone, the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design. At this point, we have heard many companies, including Samsung, Xiaomi, and HONOR, working on the Mate XT’s rival. Guess what? A new member is joining that list. Today, the Chinese smartphone brand, Infinix, has announced its first tri-folding concept phone, the ZERO Series Mini Tri-Fold.

In a press release, Infinix not only referred to the ZERO Series Mini Tri-Fold as a smartphone but also as a hands-free fitness and entertainment companion and a compact camera. The company also hints at its plans to make an “innovative strap accessory.”

Such accessories would allow the tri-fold concept phone to be attached to gym equipment, bicycle handlebars, or even a car dashboard. In other words, the company is saying that you might replace your current wearables with the ZERO Series Mini Tri-Fold.

Infinix also showcased the possible use of the concept phone during hiking. As in the image below, one can mount it on a bag strap to convert it into a compact camera. Surely, this would allow taking dynamic shots of your hike trails from every possible angle.

It folds differently compared to Huawei’s Mate XT

Unlike the Mate XT, which folds vertically like a book, Infinix’s tri-fold concept phone folds horizontally. The main display of the device can adopt three different sizes depending on how you fold it. When folded completely, the device looks like the folded Zero Flip, which Infinix introduced in September last year.

While the device looks promising, Infinix hasn’t detailed any of its specifications or dimensions. Not to mention, the price and a possible launch date are unknown as of now. All that said, we expect Infinix to share additional details about the ZERO Series Mini Tri-Fold at the MWC 2025. We’ll see if that happens or not.
