The Xiaomi 15 Ultra has just been announced in three color options
With that being said, the phone was just announced in Xiaomi’s homeland in three colors. The colors are Black, White, Chrome and Green/Sliver. The first two are self-explanatory, while the ‘Chrome’ color combines metallic and black colors. The last model on the list is basically the same as ‘Chrome’, but instead of black vegan leather, it includes green vegan leather.
That last color is the one you’ve been seeing the most in leaks and the one that is inspired by Leica cameras. The vast majority of the backplate on that model is covered by vegan leather, as you’ll see in the provided image.
It has a large camera oreo on the back, with four cameras on the inside
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra has a large camera oreo on the back, which includes four cameras on the inside. It also protrudes on the back quite a bit. A flat display is included on the front, with a centered display camera hole. We’re looking at a quad micro-curved design here, with a curved glass on top. The frame is flat all around the phone.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite processor fuels the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. 12GB and 16GB LPDDR5X RAM variants have been announced, along with 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage options. The storage is not expandable, by the way.
There is a 6.73-inch WQHD+ (3200 x 1440) LTPO AMOLED display included on the front. It offers an adaptive refresh rate from 1 to 120Hz, and the peak brightness here is 3,200 nits. It has high-frequency PWM dimming. TUV Rheinland certifications for Low Blue Light and Anti-flicker are also on board.
A 6,000mAh battery is used, while 90W wired & 80W wireless charging is supported
A 6,000mAh battery is also included in the package, as is 90W wired charging support. The phone also supports 80W wireless charging and 18W reverse wireless charging. The charger is included in the box.
Android 15 comes pre-installed on the phone, along with HyperOS 2.0. Speaking of software, Xiaomi’s HyperIA is also included here with various tools. Tools for removing reflections, sharpening up a photo, removing the background, and so on… are all here, along with plenty of others.
The phone also has two SIM card slots, and is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance. Advanced cooling is on board too, as is Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0. The same goes for an in-display fingerprint scanner, and ultrasonic one.
A powerful camera setup is used with Leica lenses
Three 50-megapixel cameras and one 200-megapixel camera are located on the back of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. A 50-megapixel main camera uses a 1-inch type sensor, the Sony LYT-900. It has an f/1.63 aperture and OIS. A 50-megapixel ultrawide camera has a 115-degree FoV and an f/2.2 aperture.
A 50-megapixel telephoto camera offers 3x optical zoom, a 70mm focal length, and OIS support. This is also a macro camera and offers an f/1.8 aperture. The 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera uses a 1/1.4-inch sensor and has an f/2.6 aperture. It supports 8.6x optical zoom. A 32-megapixel selfie camera is also included here.
