Galaxy Z Fold 7 & Flip 7’s Displays Could Be Extremely Efficient

Samsung will launch its next-gen foldable phones sometime in the second quarter of 2025. Leaks have revealed a few details about these devices, though there’s still a lot to be discovered. A recent report has revealed that the displays on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 will be very efficient, as well as design details of the Fold model.

Traditionally, Samsung’s foldable phone series has only had two variants: the Z Fold and the Z Flip. However, this changed last year with the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition (SE), although it had limited availability. It’s possible that the Galaxy Z Fold SE 2 (tentative name) will reach more markets in 2025. Plus, Samsung will also launch an affordable Galaxy Z Flip FE that seeks to expand the reach of its foldables among the mainstream public thanks to a more attractive price tag.

Leaked details about the displays and design of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Fold 7

Now, tipster PandaFlash 𝕏 has shared some information regarding the displays on Samsung’s upcoming foldables. According to the source, the screens on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 will be “highly efficient.” Battery life tests on the Z Fold 7 show around 55 additional minutes compared to the Z Fold 6. Interestingly, the post on X/Twitter mentions that the Z Fold 7 will be powered by the “Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy” chip. Previously, Samsung officials confirmed that they will implement the Exynos 2500 in the Z Flip 7 and Z Flip FE. However, they didn’t say anything about the SoC of its upcoming book-like foldable phone.

The source also offered some details about the design of the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Basically, you shouldn’t expect “significant changes” in this department compared to the current model. The company will keep the flat frame and camera rings seen on the Z Fold 6. As a plus, the post says that the design of the first Galaxy tri-fold phone won’t be surprising. So, it will probably look very similar to the Z Fold 7, but with an additional foldable “section.”

2025 to be another year of conservatism for Samsung’s devices

Previous leaks have already mentioned that the next-gen Flip and Fold won’t bring any surprising changes. It’s even possible that the Z Fold 7 will come with downgraded S Pen support to make it slimmer. Anyway, it’s interesting that the screens on these devices are much more efficient. Fold devices have been stuck at 4,400 mAh batteries for years, a capacity that already seems very tight.
