The Nothing Phone (3a) series is set to be unveiled next month and, ahead of its launch, Nothing has confirmed a switch to Snapdragon processors.
The Nothing Phone (2a) launched last year as a very good mid-range Android device, and its low price was helped by the use of a MediaTek chipset. But, for the sequel, Nothing is switch to Qualcomm.
In a post on Twitter/X, Nothing confirmed plans to use a Snapdragon chipset in the Nothing Phone (3a) series. The chip itself is unnamed, but Nothing teases “elite performance” from the new device. While that could be taken as a tease for the Snapdragon 8 Elite, that’s highly unlikely in a budget-conscious device.
Our perfect match for elite performance. Now powering up the (3a) Series.
Rumors have hinted that Nothing will be using the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 for its updated mid-range releases, a chip that’s plenty powerful, but better for the overall price compared to any 8-series Snapdragon chip.
