DXOMARK revealed that the Galaxy S25 Ultra is the king of smartphone displays

Samsung making a phone with a good display? Shocker! There was no doubt that Samsung’s most expensive phone thus far was going to have a display to beat. So, the fact that it received high marks was no little-known fact. Still, DXOMARK has established itself as a bit of a standard across the industry.

On Wednesday, the company released its results from its test, and we’re seeing some pretty high numbers. It reviewed the phone’s display based on its readability, its touch response, its color reproduction, and how it handles videos.

For readability, it scored 162 with the highest score ever reached being 164 (Galaxy S24 Ultra). For the test, DXOMARK rated how readable the phone’s screen is under different lighting conditions.

Moving onto touch response, this was the area where it scored the lowest. It’s still pretty high at 143. The highest score was 164, and the Pixel 7 Pro scored that. One of the things that DXOMARK stated was that the Galaxy S25 Ultra wasn’t the best when it comes to involuntary touches. This means that it would sometimes show unintentional touches. This sounds like the kind of issue that will be ironed out in a future software update.

As for the color, the Galaxy S25 Ultra scored 158. The Pixel 8 topped this category with 165, so Samsung’s handset wasn’t far from the mark. The test measures how this display manages color in different lighting conditions.

Lastly, the Galaxy S25 Ultra scored the highest score ever in the video department. It reached DXOMARK a score of 167. DXOMARK evaluated both SDR and HDR content in indoor and outdoor environments.
