Apple’s New Home Product With Smart Display Reportedly ‘months Away’

The news about Apple’s new HomePod with a smart display keeps coming, as popular Apple insider Mark Gurman often talks about it these days in his Power On newsletter. Last November, Gurman reported that Apple’s new home product with a smart display is coming as early as March 2025. Now, it seems the wait might extend further.

The news about further delay comes after Gurman’s last month report in which he talked about a new home product launch. He then hinted that launching the HomePod with a smart home display might take longer. At the time, he noted that since many of its features are connected with future updates, it was safe to assume that the shipping might be delayed.

Now, in his latest Power On newsletter, Gurman notes similarly. He adds, “Though Apple is pursuing smart home technology, its first major entry in that segment — a hub that can serve as a control center — is months away from shipping.” So, what does that mean?

It simply means that Gurman is confident that Apple won’t officially launch the new and much smarter HomePod in March. Although the April launch seems possible, there’s no guarantee, which is why Gurman expects a much longer wait.

Gurman is confident that this home product with a smart display could be Apple’s hero product of 2025. Moreover, it’s worth noting that the company is reportedly also working on a smart home camera.
