Galaxy S21 Series Will No Longer Be Getting Monthly Updates

The Samsung Galaxy S21 series will no longer be getting monthly updates. This does not exactly come as a surprise, though. It was expected for Samsung to move to quarterly support, and that’s what just happened.

The Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra were promised 4 years of updates. That effectively means that the One UI 7 will be the last update the devices will get.

Now, while the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra are affected by this change, the Galaxy S21 FE is not. That phone was released a bit later on and is on a different schedule.

One UI 7 still has not started rolling out to the Galaxy S21 series, though, of course, as newer phones have the advantage in that regard. Rest assured, though, One UI 7 is coming to the Galaxy S21 series.

That update represented a major change for Samsung, as it arrived much later than expected. Samsung probably wanted to get it right and opted to change its release cycle because of it. It debuted with the Galaxy S25 series last month.

One UI 7 is coming to the devices, though

One UI 7 represents a visual overhaul, but it also packs a number of new features. It is a major update, we’d say, and it will bring some novelty to your Samsung Galaxy S21 series device if you’re still using one.

If you live in the US, however, trading in your Galaxy S21 series smartphone for something from the Galaxy S25 lineup does make sense. The trade-in values are quite high at the moment, and it’s an ideal time to upgrade.

You, of course, won’t get as great of a deal as you would with last year’s Galaxy S series phone, but still, it may be worth it. The Galaxy S21 series is getting quite dated at this point in time.
