Gemini 2.0 Flash Rolling Out To Gemini App On Android, IOS

Following Thursday’s announcement, Gemini 2.0 Flash is now appearing in the Gemini app on Android and iOS.

Last week, Gemini 2.0 Flash dropped its experimental status after entering testing in December. Google’s latest model “designed for the agentic era” outperforms 1.5 Pro (introduced last May) across code, factuality, math, reasoning, and other benchmarks at twice the speed. These faster responses and stronger performance translate to “everyday help with tasks like brainstorming, learning, or writing.”

Google is also rolling out the latest version of Imagen 3 to the Gemini app for “upgraded image generation” with “richer details and textures” and “greater accuracy” when following instructions.

After debuting on gemini.google.com for free and paid users, 2.0 Flash is now rolling out to the mobile apps. In the model picker at the top of your screen, “For everyday tasks” is Google’s description.

Gemini 1.5 Flash (previously “Get everyday help”) and 1.5 Pro (“Tackle complex tasks”) will remain available (“Previous model”) for a few more weeks to let people continue their conversations.

Gemini Advanced customers get 2.0 Flash “plus more features,” like the 1 million token context window (up to 1,500 pages), Gems (creation), and Deep Research (still 1.5 Pro). The ‘plus’ menu lets them upload files and access Drive.

The iOS client was just updated today, while we’re seeing Gemini 2.0 Flash in the Google app beta (version 16.4) on Android. Try Force stopping the app if you don’t see it yet. The model is still rolling out this afternoon.
