First Galaxy S25 Update Is Now Rolling Out, And It’s Literally A Big One

The very first update to One UI 7 on the Galaxy S25 series is now available, and it sits at a significant 25GB file size.

The Galaxy S25 just went on sale in late January. The Samsung series is currently still in its pre-order phase, but shipments are going out earlier than expected. With it being in pre-order still, the series isn’t technically fully available and stores have yet to stock them on shelves. That means any firmware update to the phone is incredibly early, yet we still see on available.

According to SamMobile, it looks like Samsung is pushing a firmware update for the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra. That firmware update doesn’t seem to have any concrete details regarding what it may include, but it does bring the phone up to speed in terms of security patches.

The eye-catching part about the early update is its size. The One UI 7 firmware update takes up 24GB, meaning the patch’s download time will be a little longer than last time. When the Galaxy S24 series launched, it received an early update that required 14GB of space. This update, in comparison, is much larger.

If anything, the size speaks to how much One UI 7 packs. The firmware update likely doesn’t introduce many new features, as the series would have most of what it needs on launch. But it speaks to how big One UI 7 actually is in scope.
