Asus Zenfone 12 Ultra Leak Shows What A Tranquilized ROG Phone Looks Like

Asus is gearing up to introduce the Asus Zenfone 12 Ultra, which takes on a lot of what its flagship ROG Phone series has to offer in a package that doesn’t scream “I game!”

The Asus ROG Phone series has been well-received over the last few generations. The ROG Phone 9 Pro brought a ton of performance and was packed into a gorgeous package that came equipped with a dot-matrix rear display. Of course, that phone is visually loud and may not be the best option for every single user, even if they want the performance.

Asus is planning on delivering an option that fits the needs of the everyday user, which means bringing performance to a visually toned-down phone. New photos and specs have surfaced that showcase what the Asus Zenfone 12 Ultra will look like inside and out (via WinFuture). The phone carries a Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC with an accompanying 8GB or 16GB of RAM. The phone will only carry up to 512GB of internal storage.

On the back of the phone, there is no LED display, but there is a 50MP main camera powered by Sony’s Lytia 700 sensor. The sensor has an updated OIS unit that’s referred to as a “gimbal” system, though that seems like a lapse in translation. The unit also brings a 13MP zoom camera. This array is similar to what the company offers on the ROG Phone 9 Pro.

The display comes in at 6.78 inches and is powered by an OLED 144Hz panel. The phone also brings a 5,500mAh battery, which is really good to see. That battery is capable of 65W wired charging and 15W wireless. There is no mention of Qi2.

The phone’s silhouette does look similar to that of the ROG Phone 9 Pro, though it’s significantly tamed down. Still, the form factor works well and offers a comfortable experience.

Asus is expected to announce the device soon, though no pricing or availability is currently available.
