Android Auto Temporarily Loses TomTom Go Navigation App, Fix Coming ‘soon’

An issue with Android Auto support in the TomTom Go app leaves in-car support virtually unusable, but a fix is coming.

While the vast majority of Android Auto users are likely using Google Maps or Waze, there are quite a few other navigation apps available on the platform. One of those is TomTom Go, a service with a name you might recognize, as TomTom navigation units were quite popular prior to today’s navigation apps.

The TomTom Go app promises real-time updates on traffic and road conditions, speed alerts, and additional features such as finding fuel and seeing prices ahead of time. Another notable perk of the app is that, being based on a subscription, it has no ads.

But, recently, TomTom Go users have noticed problems with Android Auto.

Complaints of the app not showing on Android Auto at all surfaced via the app’s Play Store reviews recently, where TomTom Go confirmed it is aware of the issue and working on a fix. Some users note that the app requests location permissions even through they’ve already been granted, while others say TomTom Go simply doesn’t appear on Android Auto.

Apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused. We’ve notified the right team and they’re actively working on it. We’ll fix it soon. Your understanding is greatly appreciated. Stay tuned!
