Samsung’s Tri-Fold Phone Might Have A Pretty Mundane Name
Huawei was the first company to bring a tri-folding phone to the market, but we’re waiting for Samsung to bring its version. While we don’t have too much information about this phone, we might at least know what to call it. Thanks to a leaker, we may have the name for Samsung’s tri-fold phone.
At this point, we have no idea when Samsung will launch this device. Reports are ping-ponging between 2025 and 2026. If it launches this year, then we expect to see it during Samsung’s next Unpacked event. If so, then it could be unveiled along with three other foldables. There’s no telling what the company will do.
According to notable leaker Yeux1122 on Naver, Samsung could call its tri-fold phone the Galaxy G Fold. That’s a bit tame for how exciting this device could be. Remember how Huawei’s tri-fold phone turned the tech world on its ear? We’re sure that Samsung’s version will do the same, especially if it’s more resilient. The name Galaxy G Fold just doesn’t get the heart pumping.
In any case, the source provided some more leaked information about this phone. It looks like, when it’s unfolded completely, it will have a 9.96-inch display. The company will probably just call it a 10-inch display to save the syllables.
While many tablets start at 11 inches and go up, 10 inches is still nothing to sneeze at. It’s a decent size and good enough for some serious content consumption or work. If anything, a 10-inch display can come in handy in a pinch. Imagine carrying a 10-inch tablet in your pocket!
There’s no more information about the Galaxy G Fold at this point. However, we know that the leaks will pick up as the device nears its unveiling. We can guess that this device will have a high level of build quality and a price to match. Expect to spend well over $2,000 on this phone if you’re crazy enough to buy it. Let’s just hope that Samsung will bring an experience and feature set that will justify the price.
