In its first update in the better part of a year, Samsung is rolling out a new Good Lock app with an updated design that’s ready for One UI 7’s rollout, and a major improvement over what was available before.

Samsung’s Good Lock can be a powerful tool for modifying One UI, but using the app has always been a pain. Back when Samsung first forced users to go through Good Lock just to run apps on the Galaxy Z Flip 5’s cover display, the UI/UX problems with Good Lock quickly came to light for a lot of people who had never used it before.

Alongside a host of other improvements coming to Samsung’s Android skin with One UI 7, it was also announced that Good Lock would get a revamp, and that’s now arrived.

Good Lock v3.0.10.1 is now rolling out via the Galaxy Store with a complete redesign to the app. The new version brings a revamped UI that’s drastically changed from the previous v2.2.04.95 update which was released back in April 2024.

Where the previous version of Good Lock had two tabs that served as effectively two different categories (with no obvious explanation of the difference), the new update delivers a dedicated “Plugins” tab that shows all available Good Lock modules, with categories listed across the top of the UI to sort the list. The “You” tab shows modifications that are in effect as well as housing a “favorites” section where you can place installed modules for easy access.

Along the top of the app there’s a new settings button that contains “Good Lock credits,” a contact form, and permissions. Another button reveals widgets and wallpapers available as a part of Good Lock.

In terms of user experience, this is a drastic upgrade. Not only is it faster to access portions of the app, but everything is much easier to understand without added context.

This update is arriving in line with One UI 7, but is rolling out (slowly) via the Galaxy Store now, but you might not get it right away. Soon, the app will also be released in the Play Store as it expand to all Galaxy users globally. In the meantime, the APK is floating around, but install at your own risk.
