The Pixel Buds Pro 2 Is Finally Getting The First Update

The Pixel Buds Pro 2 launched alongside the Pixel 9 series phones at the Made by Google event in August last year. So, if you have a pair, there’s some good news. After a long wait of four months since the launch, Google has reportedly started rolling out the first software update for the Pixel Buds Pro 2.

The Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 has reportedly started receiving the very first update

When a company releases a new product, it usually pushes updates to resolve bugs and issues. Google hasn’t treated the Pixel Buds Pro 2 the same way. However, folks over at 9to5Google today reported spotting a Reddit post with details of the first update for the earbuds.

Per the post, the first update for the flagship buds from last year bumps the firmware version to 3.144. Currently, most units are running on firmware version 2.117. Worth noting that Google hasn’t officially announced or posted a changelog for the update. So there’s no information on what improvements are coming along with the first update.

However, considering a comment by a Product Expert on the support forum from last week, it’ll fix volume control issues. That issue prevents some users from adjusting the earbuds’ volume using their smartphone’s volume rockers.

The latest software update is expected to come your way very soon

In the past, Pixel Buds users have also complained about random disconnects and syncing issues between both left and right buds. We expect the first update for the Pixel Buds Pro 2 will also address all those issues.

From what it looks like, the latest update for the ear-worn wearable is rolling out in batches. So, don’t worry, it might be available for your earbuds soon. You can always check whether the update is available for your Pixel Buds Pro 2 by opening the Companion app and heading to More Settings> Software update.
