Report: Samsung ‘tri-Fold’ Device Launches In 2025 Alongside Three Other Galaxy Foldables

While Samsung’s foldable outlook for 2025 is a bit murky, the company is reportedly giving it a strong shot with four foldables in the works including its first “tri-fold” device.

Going into 2025, foldables are getting better than ever, but also running into a market that’s not growing as quickly as expected. Samsung isn’t giving up just yet, though, with apparent plans to launch not two, not three, but four foldable devices in 2025.

@Jukanlosreve, citing a video report from The Elec, says that Samsung will put out Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7 as expected, with the Fold 7 possibly removing the S Pen digitizer as rumored, which could lead to an S Pen that requires charging. That was previously reported as an effort to make the Fold 7 thinner.

The third device in the lineup would be a Galaxy Z Flip FE, a lower-cost flip-style foldable that’s also been previously reported.

Lastly, would be Samsung’s first “tri-fold” foldable.

This device will have a larger display than the Galaxy Z Fold 7 by adding a second hinge. The display would measure between 9.9-inches and 10-inches when fully opened, significantly larger than the 7.6-inch display on Galaxy Z Fold 6. The device is said to launch in Q3 2025, the same timeline that’s expected for Samsung’s other foldables. Samsung is planning a production volume of 200,000 units for the year, implying Samsung doesn’t expect the device to be very popular in terms of units shipped.

There have been rumors for years of a “tri-fold” device from Samsung, but Huawei beat Samsung to the punch with the launch of Mate XT last year.

Meanwhile, Samsung is gearing up for the Galaxy S25 launch this week, with reservations open with added discounts ahead of the event.
