OPPO Find X8 Ultra Confirmed To Get A Telemacro Camera
Contents
The OPPO Find X8 Ultra is the company’s upcoming flagship, and based on the latest report, it will feature a telephoto macro aka telemacro camera. This move was kind of expected, as macro shots are so much easier to do with a telephoto camera.
The OPPO Find X8 Ultra has been confirmed to get a telemacro camera, finally
As a reminder, the OPPO Find X7 Ultra can take great macro shots, but only with its ultrawide camera. That camera is made for macro photography. On many other flagships, the telephoto camera is used for the same job.
After using a ton of phones, I can easily say that using a telephoto camera is the better choice. You really don’t have to get nearly as close to the subject to grab a macro shot. That way you can even capture some macro shots you usually would not be able to. For example, you can easily spook animals if you get as close to them as an ultrawide camera requires you to, in order to take a macro shot.
Just to be clear, this is not a rumor. The information comes from OPPO Find’s Product Manager, Zhou Yibao, so it’s an official confirmation. He confirmed that via a reply to a user comment on Weibo.
The device is likely coming in March, alongside the OPPO Find X8 Pro Mini
The OPPO Find X8 Ultra is expected to arrive in March, along with the OPPO Find X8 Pro Mini. There is a chance that neither of those two phones will arrive to global markets. The OPPO Find X7 Ultra was not available outside of China.
The company’s upcoming ‘Ultra’ phone is tipped to include a 1-inch type 50-megapixel main camera, with Sony’s LYT-900 sensor. In addition to that, a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-701 or Sony IMX906 periscope telephoto camera with a 3x optical zoom will be included, that will be the telemacro camera.
The third camera on the back will be a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto unit (Sony’s IMX882, 6x optical zoom most likely). And last, but not least, a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera (Sony’s IMX882 sensor) will also sit on the back.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite processor will fuel this smartphone. A larger battery than the one in the OPPO Find X7 Ultra is expected, as OPPO will utilize a silicon-carbon battery. So a battery pack near 6,000mAh is expected.
