Following its initial launch in December, HONOR has just announced the global variant of the Porsche Design HONOR Magic7 RSR handset. The company says this is a “sports car among smartphones”.

The Porsche Design HONOR Magic7 RSR arrives to global markets

It obviously comes from a collaboration between Porsche Design and HONOR, as did a number of devices in the past. This phone follows the Porsche Design Magic6 and Magic V2 handsets that landed last year.

HONOR says that this phone “merges premium sports car inspired design with state-of-the-art technology, again showcasing a powerful collaboration meticulously crafting a groundbreaking product.”

In a joint press release, the two companies added that this phone “incorporates Porsche’s signature design elements with a hexagonal camera module inspired by high-performance components”, while also saying that “The aerodynamic aesthetics of the Taycan Turbo S are seamlessly integrated, and the symmetrical arrangement of four imaging units (3 cameras and 1 graphic element) resemble sports car headlights, protected by 3D glass echoing Porsche’s windshield curves.”

This phone uses a hexagonal camera module on the back

Speaking of the camera, you’ll notice that it looks different than on a regular model. HONOR and Porsche Design opted for a hexagonal module here, instead o the round one on the regular Magic7 Pro. This is essentially a special edition variant of the HONOR Magic7 Pro, in case you were wondering.

The backplate also has that vertical line on the back, to further differentiate the design, but overall, this is still the HONOR Magic7 Pro. The front side remains unchanged, and the quad micro-curved design is still in effect.

MagicOS 9.0 is a huge part of the experience here, as is an improved periscope telephoto camera setup

Android 15 comes pre-installed on this phone, with the MagicOS 9.0 skin on top of it. There are quite a few AI features included here, and various other additions. MagicOS 9.0 comes with AI-powered Real-time Transcript, AI Summary, AI Minutes, and AI Format features into HONOR Notes. AI Eraser is also included, as is AI Cutout, just to name a few.

This phone also comes with the AI HONOR Image Engine for photography, and and improved camera setup compared to the Magic7 Pro. This phone comes with an improved periscope telephoto camera. It has a 200MP Ultra-sensitive Telephoto Camera. This camera has the largest f/1.88 telephoto aperture on the market, and a 1/1.4-inch sensor

A 50-megapixel Super Dynamic Falcon main camera is also used here, with a 1/1.3-inch sensor and variable aperture. The third camera on the back is a 50-megapixel ultrawide unit. The LiDAR Matrix Autofocus System is used here too.

Qualcomm’s most powerful chip fuels the device

The large 6.8-inch display protects your eyes, and offers an adaptive refresh rate, in addition to very high resolution. The Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC fuels the phone, while the device also includes a 5,850mAh battery. 100W wired and 80W wireless charging is supported too, and HONOR used a silicon-carbon battery here.

This smartphone comes in two colors, Agate Gray and Provence. The former is the classic Porsche color, while the latter has a purple hue to it. The Porsche Design HONOR Magic7 RSR will go on sale across Europe starting from February 21. The phone will be priced at €1,799.
