Motorola's Latest Moto G Series Brings IP69, Brighter Displays, And More From $199

Motorola is kicking off its 2025 with the reveal of new Moto G devices, with Moto G (2025) and Moto G Power (2025) launching with updated specs and set to go on sale starting later this month.

Starting with the base Moto G (2025), Motorola’s long-standing budget option gets a 6.7-inch 120Hz display that’s now brighter at 1,000 nits. It swaps a Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 for MediaTek’s Dimensity 6300, still has 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage with microSD), and has Gorilla Glass 3. The battery comes in at 5,000 mAh with 30W wired charging, and the phone carries IP52 water and dust resistance, meaning it can handle a splash or two. The camera setup includes a 50MP main shooter and 2MP macro, with a 16MP front-facing camera.

Moto G (2025) will be available starting on January 30 from $199.

Meanwhile, the Moto G Power (2025) delivers a similar, but overall stronger package. The display is the same brightness but at 6.8-inches in size, and you’ll also get the MediaTek Dimensity 6300, but with 8GB of RAM and at least 128GB of storage.

Like the 2024 model, you’ll get a 5,000 mAh battery with 30W wired charging and 15W wireless (no Qi2, of course), and a 50MP main camera backed up by an 8MP ultrawide and 16MP selfie camera. The biggest addition this year is IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance, the same rating earned by the OnePlus 13. This allows for better water resistance at higher temperatures, among other protections. Both the Moto G and G Power include NFC and have a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Moto G Power (2025) goes on sale in early February from $299.

These are also, notably, the first Motorola devices shipping with Android 15 out of the box.
